A few helpful answers
What is the difference between stretched and floating frame canvas?
Both use canvas stretched over an internal timber frame. Floating frame canvas adds a decorative outer frame and a small shadow gap around the artwork. Both arrive ready to hang.
What does “with Matt” mean in the frame options?
It means a mount board: the border between the printed artwork and the frame. Choose it for visual breathing space around the image. “No Matt” means no mount-board border. It does not describe whether the paper surface is matte or satin.
Does a paper print include a frame?
Only when you select a framed finish. Framed paper prints include protective glazing and arrive ready to hang. Unframed paper prints are supplied without a frame so you can arrange your own framing.
Which finish should I choose for a living room?
Choose stretched canvas if you prefer texture and a clean edge, floating frame canvas for a more defined outline, or framed paper for a classic glazed presentation. Consider your furniture, lighting and preferred frame colour as well as the artwork.
Are all finishes available for every artwork?

Three steps to a confident size choice

Measure your space
Record the wall width and height, furniture width and any nearby doors, switches or shelves. Leave room around the artwork so the display does not feel crowded.

Mark out the finished size
Use paper or a removable tape suitable for your wall finish. Mark the outside dimensions of the complete framed or stretched artwork, rather than only the image area.

Step back and compare
View the outline from the doorway and your usual seat. Compare two available sizes, then choose the one that gives you the balance and visual impact you prefer.
How large should art be above furniture?
As a decorating starting point, try a complete artwork or group around two-thirds to three-quarters of the furniture width . Adjust for your wall, ceiling height and preferred look.
These are suggested total display widths, including frames and any gaps between multiple artworks. They are not product sizes. Swipe across tables on smaller screens.

Example: Above a 180 cm sofa, start by marking a display approximately 120–135 cm wide. For two framed artworks, add both outside frame widths and the gap between them.
Understand orientation before choosing a size
Portrait · Taller than wide
A vertical composition can suit a narrow wall or a space beside furniture. Example: 60 cm wide × 90 cm high (23.6 × 35.4 in).
Landscape · Wider than tall
A horizontal composition can suit the space above a sofa, bed or console. Example: 90 cm wide × 60 cm high (35.4 × 23.6 in).
Square · Equal sides
A square composition can work alone or in a balanced group. Example: 60 cm wide × 60 cm high (23.6 × 23.6 in), where offered.
Examples explain orientation; they do not mean this artwork is available in every shape. Choosing a size does not automatically change the artwork's orientation. If a selector does not identify width and height clearly, ask us before ordering.

Living room · Above a sofa or console
Use the furniture width as your starting point and centre the display over the furniture. A landscape artwork or coordinated group can create a balanced arrangement.
Mark the full outside dimensions on the wall and check the result while seated. Leave enough separation from furniture for the artwork to feel comfortable within the space.
Bedroom · Above a bed or on a side wall
Measure the headboard and the clear wall above it. Compare a single wider artwork with a pair, allowing for any bedside lighting and nearby shelves.
Check the outline from the doorway and from the bed. Use suitable wall fixings for the finished artwork's weight and your wall type.
Hallway or entry · Make a welcoming first impression
Portrait artwork can suit a narrow wall, while smaller framed prints can create a sequence along a hallway. Keep door swings, switches and walkways clear.
In a narrow passage, consider frame depth as well as width. Check the display from both ends of the hallway.
Gallery wall · Bring several artworks together
Plan the group as one display. Include each artwork's outside frame dimensions and all gaps when measuring its total width and height.
Arrange paper templates on the wall before installing fixings. Repeated frame colours or related artwork tones can help the group feel coordinated.
Large feature wall · Give a statement piece room
Mark the complete outside dimensions and view the outline from your usual viewing position. Check nearby furniture, ceiling height and the space around the frame.
If a 121 × 193 cm floating frame option appears for your chosen artwork and finish, confirm its orientation and finished outside measurements before ordering. Oversized availability depends on the product.
Also check access through doorways, corridors and stairways, and plan suitable installation for the artwork's weight.
Print size or finished frame size?
They are not always the same. For wall planning, use the finished outside width and height. These details explain what to check.
Stretched canvas
Check the finished width, height and depth of the stretched canvas. It has an internal stretcher frame but no decorative outer frame. Do not use rolled-canvas material dimensions to estimate the finished display.
Floating frame canvas
The outer frame and shadow gap can increase the overall dimensions beyond the canvas itself. Confirm whether the selected size describes the canvas or the complete framed piece. Do not add a fixed allowance without checking the frame specification.
Framed paper · With or without a mount board
A mount board is the border between the artwork and frame; it may be labelled “Matt” in the finish options. The paper size, visible image area and outside frame size can differ.
Confirm whether the selected size refers to the paper or the complete frame, and whether the mount reduces the visible image area or increases the overall frame size.
Unframed paper or rolled canvas
Check the supplied sheet or canvas dimensions and any border allowance. Discuss the required image area and finished size with your framer before ordering a separate frame or stretcher.
